Vaksindo Vietnam & UAH Co-Host Technical Seminar 2025: “To Knock Out Pathogens & Enhance Gut Health in Sows and Piglets by IgA & Bacillus”

On June 19, 2025, Vaksindo Vietnam, in collaboration with United Animal Health (UAH – USA), successfully organized the Technical Seminar 2025 under the theme: “To Knock Out Pathogens & Enhance Gut Health in Sows and Piglets by IgA & Bacillus”. The event took place at Nikko Hotel Saigon and brought together over 150 participants, including veterinary professionals, livestock producers, researchers, and industry partners.

MOVING TOWARD MODERN, SUSTAINABLE FARMING

The seminar emphasized that: “Biosecure pig farming – combined with herd preservation” is a modern farming method, a sustainable direction for the livestock industry, and a key strategy of Vietnam’s agricultural development. In the context of growing disease threats and reduced antibiotic usage, boosting gut immunity with natural solutions has become essential.

A key focus of the seminar was the role of IgA and Bacillus in improving gut health in sows and piglets—factors critical to strengthening immunity, reducing weaning stress, and preventing digestive disorders.

INSIGHTS FROM LEADING NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS

The event featured four renowned speakers in the field of animal health and nutrition:

  • Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nam, MSc – Director of the Veterinary Hospital and Lecturer at the Faculty of Infectious Diseases & Public Health, Nong Lam University, HCMC
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Hien – Head of Infectious Diseases and Veterinary Public Health Department, Nong Lam University
  • Dr. Brian Arnold – Director of Microbiological Products, Institute of Microbiology, United Animal Health
  • Dr. Ian Hands – Director of Swine Business Unit, EMEA & APAC, United Animal Health

With the presentation by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nam, attendees gained clearer insights into the causes, symptoms, and impacts of Salmonella, E. coli, and Clostridium on pigs. The session also highlighted effective control strategies for these “silent pathogens,” notably probiotics and immune-enhancement approaches, which have helped UAH strengthen its global brand presence.

INTRODUCING PROVENT ECL AND FXP – PRACTICAL, EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS

Two key innovations from UAH were presented as effective tools for modern pig farming:

  • ProVent ECL – A powerful new probiotic product based on advanced Bacillus strains
  • FxP – A functional protein rich in IgA, capable of replacing plasma in piglet diets and improving post-weaning survival

ProVent ECL – a new, strong probiotic, and FxP – a functional protein rich in immunity, are two exceptional solutions that producers can consider to control diarrhea and reduce mortality in piglets. These innovations are ideally suited to the strategy of “Biosecure pig farming – combined with herd preservation.”

CONNECT – COLLABORATE – GROW SUSTAINABLY

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session and networking dinner, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and future collaboration.

The success of Technical Seminar 2025: “To Knock Out Pathogens & Enhance Gut Health in Sows and Piglets by IgA & Bacillus” reaffirmed the commitment of Vaksindo Vietnam and UAH to delivering advanced, science-based solutions for the sustainable development of Vietnam’s swine industry.
